Despite Dr, Cook's desire to keep his
work a secret uutU the time arrives fot

nels, several of those who declare he

their w ish to tell of what it has done
for them.
Remarkable atatementt regarding the
manner in which the X rays had re
stored their sight were made recently
to a New York American reporter by 1

T. J. Byrne of New York city said:
M I was going blind when 1 liegau to
take the Roentgen ray treatment and
could not recognize a friend who passed
me ou the street. Now I can distin
guish faces for a distance of half a
block and can read the finest print"

than fifteen years, my. sight was rapid

glasses."
Even more striking than these two
cases is that of Frank Comstock of '
Meriden, t'onn., which is vouched for
by Mr. Ryrne. Comstock Was totally '
%itbout vision when lit? was first treat
ed with the rays, the retina of one eye
being detached, w hile the other had
been badly affected by degeneration of
the nerves He was then unable to
make hi* way through the streets with
out assistance. He Is now able to read
ami con find his way easily from place

Death of Mrs. Ellen Drawdy.
On the nth of June, 1908,
Mrs. Ellen Drawdy very peace
fully passed away at the home
of Mrs. W. H. Stone. Every
thing possible was done for
Mrs. Drawdy, but of no avail.
She was married to Philip
Drawdy December 6th 1865.
She leaves two sons, I. F.
Drawdy, of Vamville, H. A.
Drawdy, of Islandton, one bro
ther, L. Herndon, one sister,
Mrs. W. H. Stone and a host
of friends and relatives to
mourn her loss. She Joined
the Pine Grove Baptist Owrch
when very young, of which
churctLshe remained a member
until her death. Interment
was made in the Pine Grove
Cemetery.
“She is gone but forgotten.
May the Lord bless those sad
hearts and comfort the bereav
ed ones, and may we all be
able to meet her on the Resu-
rection Morning.
