that Solicitor Jervey has been in
town, and referring to the present
ment of their part (Grand Jury)
in the Dispensary cases. Jt does
stem that Mr Beach, the State
Constable, would not come before
the Grind Jury and make the state

time to time tried to get these cases
tried, and that at the time he and
hk witnesses were there ready for
trial, he, (Beach) was notified that
ae cam were all continued, and
that he saw no great reason why it
i done. This was on Thursday,
the day the Petit Jurors were dis
charged.
Now ii&Mr Jervey’s statement is
correct, Mr Beach, the Constable,
U wrong. If Mr Beach’s statement
to the Jurors is corret, Mr Jervey is
wrong. Now it is up to Solicitor
Jervey and State Constable Bench
to say which ie correct.

Lodge, May 25.—Friday night
about 10 o’clock fire waa diacoverud
in the rear of the kitchen of R* E.
Jones residence near Lodge. It is
thought the fire originated in the
pantry, which was being used a« a
plunder room. When discovered it
had gained such headway that noth
ing coaid be done to wve the build
ing. C. F. Garter, and family who
were occupying the houee, managed
to save about half their furniture.
The Iom was $1100. for Mr Jones and
about $100 for Mr Carter.
Mr Junes will rebuild at once
temporarily. No insurance was car
ried.
