Patterson Jr, who has been attending the United States court at Wilmington, N. C., re turned Thuraday afternoon. Mr Patterson reports as having had a very pleasant time. Crops through this State are very small, and in North Carolina they are still smaller than in this State, with the exception of the oat crop. North Carolina has it on this State in that particular line. He also states that all along the line from Walterboro to Wilmington that Umt year’s cot ton ia being held in abundance. Mr Patterson will take another trip to Raleigh in June. A Now Firm. Col. J. G. Padgett and J. C. Lem- acks have associated themselves together ss the law firm of Padgett A Lemacks. Mr Padgett is a prom inent menber of the bar hav ing practiced here for several years. Mr Lemacks was just admitt ed to the bar a few days ago, but gives promise of a bright future as a lawyer, The firm is a well balanc ed one.
