The farmers have delayed a few days ou account of the wet weather, but we have some fine weather now and the farmers are all busy again with their crops. ,They are putting in a large crop of corn this year. The first crop promises to be a success in this section, unless destroyed by a late cold snap. The school at Dry Branch is doing good work under the care of the able and efficient teacher, Prof. U J D Caldwell. Quite a large crowd of young folks gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs J L Crosby Friday night to a pinder shelling. Music was rendered by Ernest Carter Tommie Williams ami Miss Emma Carter. All had -a-vefy tine time. Messers Billie and Leland Hiers visited their listen Mrs H M Bishop and Mrs B B Bishop near Ehrhardt, Saturday and Sun day. Mr and Mrs J W Walker visited C A Walker Sunday. We are very sorry to learn of the illness of Mrs C F Caldwell bnt we hope to see her oot soon again. Mrs I D Walker and family visited Mr and Mrs J H Ramsey near Williams Saturday and Sunday. We are very sorry to state that Ma J H Caldwell it confined to hie bed with a aevere case of fever Wo art glad to aeo our able and effldent editor ia a candidate for tie boose. We wish him success. Miss Jo-ephine Crosby spent last week with her grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Crosby. Misses Mary and Martha Brs- land of Doctors Casek are spend ing this week with relatives here. Urel Yarn has gone with her I father P. M. Yarn to Beaufort to spend a few days with him. Miss Cary Crosby who has been sick for quite a while was out at Sunday school last Sunday, we were glad to see her out again. Miss Esteila Smoak, teacher of the Snider school, gave an en tertainment last Friday night which was enjoyed by everyone present. The pupila recited. The visiting speakers were W. W. Smoak, Jr., and H. W. Black of Walter boro. Mr and Mrs G J Yarn had business in Walterboro today. Mias Maude Padgett who came home from Edgefield a few days ago has been very ill, but glad to say she is better now.
