Since you were so kind Mr Editor,
ms to give that little piece from
Weeks space in the dear old Press
and Stanr a~d, I am seeking admit
tance again.
We were visited last Friday even
ing by a severe storm which did
considerable damage to com and
cotton. The dry spell is over, and a
rainy spell is on. Fodder pulling is
progressing slowly. Cotton has lie-
, gun to open. J. W. Boatright has
found one stalk of cotton in his field
that has grown two and three full
developed bolls to one square and
one bloom, and the bolls are not de
formed except one and that has
three to the s ;uare.

The Teacher’s Meeting.
Editor Press and Standard:—Dr
Black's notice in last week’s paper
urging the trustees and teachers to
attend an important meeting in
Walterboro Sept. 14-is a step in
the right direction. Every teacher
and trustee as well as many] prtrona
should ke present.
We should have a County Teach
er’s Association. A meeting once a
month for the exchange of ideas
and the discussion of educational
topics would be Iteneficial.
State Supt. Martin has issued a
pamphlet giving a list of the adopt
ed,sch< ol books, library books and a
ci urse of study for the school of
South Ca i.litva.
