AT TMF NIGHT.
At the request a friend, a - sufferer

thing better we would like to have it
God give me sleep—the night is worn
away;
Soon from the east will come relent

Day, that will summon me to strive
again
With strong, resourceful, eager, sel

I,with spent Jnerves and brain long

Must face the fight they enter on

I toss upon my pillows; I arise
To pace the floor and bathe my burn

To every sound my straining ear is
quick;
I hear the hall‘olock’1 dull ma

wall; il

A cock crows shrilly, and the clock

Day, maddening day, will soon be
here once more,
I pause beside my baby boy’s white
bed.
What happy dreams sweep through
that little head!
He plucks the nodding flowers, and
he sees
Birds on the wingjmd hears the drone
of bees;
While in my ears still dins the roar

Many Orphans And Little Bread.
There are in the Thornwell

process of securing an education.
These boys and girla are of all

of steady work in the shops and
farms and kitchen and about the
same time daily on their books,
in tliis way the cost of caring
for the whole family is lessened
by many thousands of dollars.
But the great majerity of the
children are very amall, only a
care instead of a help and aided
in every way. The support of
these children rests upon good
men and women who lovo the
orphans and freely* aid thorn.
