Death of Mr* tlriffin
• How often ala*! are we called upon
to say a few worda in memory of
those who are dear *0 us, and al
though the visitation of the dark
shadow of death. ' . ‘
Mysterious as it it, brings a fresh
tide of grief, yet we can bat think it
is for a good motive. „ I
On the morning of Dec 14, death
visited the home of B R Griffin, near
Doctor’s Creek, and claim d for its
own, his beloved wife, Bosa.
They had only been married a lit
tie over two years, and she had made
a loving wife and sister-in-law, bnt
death, the greatest of all hnman,
mysteries, never waits for its victims
to ripen for the grave, hue conies
upon them nnexpectedlv, claiming
all seasons for its own. Mrs griffin
had been a member of the Baptist
Chorch ever since her girlhood dhys.
And the steady 'Christian fsith in
which she possessed makes the writer
constrained to sa? that her spirit
now dwells in the land of happiness
there to a wait the onvnmg of her
bereaved friends and relatives
Her remains were laid to rest
•Saturday morning in Doctor’s Creek
Cemetary amid a concourse of rela
tives and friends. Funeral services
were conducted by ths pastor, Rev G
M Sexton. Mrs Griffin was Miss
Ross Bishop of Ehrbardt» before ber
marriage, and leaves two sisters, two
brothers and a bereaved husband and
a host of relatives and friends to
mourn her lo&s.
Sleep on beloved and take thy rest,
Lay down (by head upon thy
Savior's breast,
We love thee well but Jesns loves
thee best
Calm is thy slumber as an infant
skep
Bnt thou sbalt wake no more to toil
and weep
Only GuoUbve dear Rosa, and not
farewell,
A little «hile, and all His saints shall
* dwell with thee in Paradise.
