and whose name is highly spoken of by
the brethren.

ordained, is a handsome addition to the

and is already doing much good.
The Rev Robert 8 Wiliams preached
the introductory sermon before the body
on Friday night. It was a thoughtful
earnest and appropriate premntaiion

highly capable work in the Greenville
Baptist woman’s college.

meeting on Saturday afternoon. Miss
Weekly presided and new stimulus was
given to the woman’s missionary work,

The fourth quarterly conference of
Bethel Methodist church was held
incmediatelv after serf ices Sunday
morning. Kev H W Bays. D D,
pre*jding elder presided He had
just preao eda very eloquent and
able sermon in which be depicted
very forcibly the character of Moaea.
This was the laet service to be beiu
here by Dr Bays, his four years as
presiding elder having almost expired.

residence is completed and is now
being equipped with gas lights. The
interior of his boom is beautifully
decorated. W C Bows of New York,
who contracted the painting and
decorating baa left the home of 8 G
Pierce one that will stand as a sam
ple of lartistio derereling aad will
be looked upon as the fruits of an
earnest endeavor to prove his com
petency as a practical mechanic, Mr
Pierce has carefully planned and
arranged his home such that it will
always be looked on with great
pleasure by all that appreciate the
efiorts of one who wishes to make
hi» home attractive. It stands second
to none in the county.
. B Allen Ackerman has reaoently
improved his beantifnl home by new
ly patarinf hit dwelling and fence.
There are revere! new dwellings
being built around here. So all we
lack now is a railroad and if we oan
get that it would not be very long
before old Cottegeville would be the
leading town in Colleton Oranty as
it is a healthy place and the farming
lands are very good.
. The grade school here is also doing
a very good work. The school is
being .taught by Prof Mood Mire
Lillian Myers is his reristant. They
are both very good teachers sod
managers, therefore they are doing a
great deaf ot good tn this oommnnity.
We are also glad to state that Quil-
lie Willis who got badly hurt some
time ago at G K Ackerman’s saw mill
is rapidly improving and in a few
days we hope to see him walking the
streets of Coitageville. Goodbye Mr
