On* of it* leading deponent* is Bro B If Halford who has been ordained within the year, and whose name is highly spoken of by the brethren. It was a great pleasure to meet at the association the vanerbio John F Norrali, who since the death of Mrs 11 or rail, resides with his two sons in Walter boro. There is no man in the Bmta| of more chivalrous fearless Christian spirit not of kinder heart. Tba story of the life of the Rev J F Mor rell would cover a large part of Baptist Malory in wonts \ wronna tor two gen- erationp past. The hospitality of the Walterboro Baptists to their essociational visitors was unbounded aad beautiful. I had the pleasure of being a guest al the hoMes of Brethren B Q Price, A 8 Mor rell, B H Padgett end Mrs DuBois, end invitations were more numerous still. Bro O M Sexton, of Laurens recently ordained, is a handsome addition to the Gollston association, preaohar personnel He is the pastor of sevsral church**, and is already doing much good. The Rev Robert 8 Wiliams preached the introductory sermon before the body on Friday night. It was a thoughtful earnest and appropriate premntaiion There is no truer character than Bro. Williams, MiasQeorgie Ackerman, of the Oreen- vlUe Female college, who ia on a year’s have of absence, was at the aaaociatkm. Him Ackerman is spending a brief while whith her parents in Colleton county, after which she will do speiai study in a northern institution. Miss Ackerman has done most faithful and highly capable work in the Greenville Baptist woman’s college. The women of the association had a meeting on Saturday afternoon. Miss Weekly presided and new stimulus was given to the woman’s missionary work, An invitation to hunt deer I had, and to hunt where deer, were nemerons. twelve miles below Walterdoro. That I did not go should be evidece enough that I am a busy man. The association will meet at Black Creek church next year. It is a good community, an- easy drives out from Walterboro. It stands second to none in the county. . B Allen Ackerman has reaoently improved his beantifnl home by new ly patarinf hit dwelling and fence. There are revere! new dwellings being built around here. So all we lack now is a railroad and if we oan get that it would not be very long before old Cottegeville would be the leading town in Colleton Oranty as it is a healthy place and the farming lands are very good. . The grade school here is also doing a very good work. The school is being .taught by Prof Mood Mire Lillian Myers is his reristant. They are both very good teachers sod managers, therefore they are doing a great deaf ot good tn this oommnnity.
