Willis of Oottarille had busi ness in town last Saturday. Miss Edith Sanders of Hendersonville, is visiting relatives in town this week. Rev. E. P. Hutson, of Cottageville/ was in town last Saturday. Hon. A. C. Sanders was in town last Thursday. The Heyward Riflemen will meet at the armory next Monday night. Rev. J. F. Morrell will preach at the Baptist church Sunday morning. R. D. Robinson of White Hall paid us a pleasant visit yesterday. We were glad to see B. S. Avant of Ashton, Fla., in town Tuesday. Mrs J. B. Hickman, and daughter, Gladys, are visiting at Denmark this week. Miss Bessie Mims entertained last week in honor of her friend, Miss Keels of Sumter. Miss Lila Gregory, who has been visiting in Charleston, returned to her home in Walterboro. Miss Ruth Mazyck, of Charleston is visiting the Misses Wescoat in town this week. ' Mrs Adams of Bamberg, is visiting her son, C. D. C. Adams, ini town this week. There will be a basket picnic given at Great Swamp Baptist caurch October 4, 1906. J. P. Gay, of Youngs Island, had business in town the latter part of last week. J. H. Yarn, member of the firm, Yarn & Co., of Weimer. had business in town last Friday. Miss Lizzie Easterlin of Providence who has been visiting Miss Eva Wil liams has returned home. | V F. P. Wichman, who has been visiting relatives in Savamah and Scotia, re turned to Walterboro yesterday. Miss Bessie Kohn, who has been visit ing friends in New York and Philadel phia returned home last week. D. M. Yarn, correspondent for The Press and btandard from Weimer, paid US a pleasant call last Friday. T. P. Murray left Monday morning for Charleston where he has accepted a position with the Atlantic Coast Line. An interesting article was sent us by "Brown Eye," which we cannot publish because the name of the writer did not accompany. 8. G. Price has accepted a position iu the wheelwright and blacksmith shops of P. Price, his brother in Barnwell. He will leave in a few days lor his new home. E. L. Cummins of Youngs Island, one of the progressive citizens and planters of that neighborhood, was in town Friday. ~ J. B. Daniel writes from Wil liamston : "I am here with mr wife, who has been quite nnwell for several weeks. W e are here drinking the water.
