M R Stone then delivered a very
appropriate and complimentary acf-
dress to the school and patrons,
speaking of the progress and success
of the scholars and how fortunate
they were in seenring the services of
a good teacher.
W C Brant spoke next of how
gratifying it was to them to note the
growth and progress of the school.
He contended that the boys and girls
of onr day could have no reasonable
excuse for not obtaining an educa
tion and that parents should wake up
to a greater sense of duty and better
prepare their children for life. After
his remarks the following resolntion
was offered and adopted:
Whereas, Miss Carrie Weekley,
teacher in the Sniders school for the
past term, has given such universal
satisfaction as teacher in said school.
' Be it Resolved, That we the pat
rons and friends of the Sniaers
school, show oar appreciation of her
service as teacher by tendering nnto
her. onr heartfelt thanks for her ser
vices in the past and re-elect her i
our teacher tor the next term.
The audience was then dismissed
and went away meditating^over the
memories of the pleasant momenta
spent at these exercises. Mias
Weekly is a fine teacher, one among
the most up-to date teachers in the
State. She graduated at Winthrep
College and has fe wonderful experi
ence as a teacher, having taught
school not only in her own native
State, bat was teacher in the CarU.
S. C., Indian school of Pennsylvania
several yean. And also taught two

lucky day for any school that can

Myriads of hearts were saddened
June 12, on learning that a long
loved one was no more, but fear net
loved ones, for she bus gone to a great
reward which is in heaven, with her
loved ones which have gone before.
We feel that this community has lost
one of its bright shining lights, and
that there can never be another that
can fulfil her place of religious
deeds. She was a devoted mother,
a true sister and a loving wife, and
was always a faithful member to
her church and its duties.
She leaves a husband, four chil
dren and several grand children, to
mourn her loss, but oh! ’tis so com
forting to the crushed hearts to know
that while she was once suffering,
that she it now in that beautiful city
with her Lord and angels, where she
will forever more be.
The interment took place at Bethel
cemetery on Wednesday morning. We
greatly sympathize with the bereaved
family we trnst that t be crusned and
bleeding hearts will soon heal.
Her loved ones met her there
As the gate of heaven swung ajar,
Ap4 greeted her with shouting,
That in heaven was heard so far.
We hope in Christ to meet again
With a tight clasp of the hand.
Then walk op the golden street,
With the beautiful angel band.
