people trying to get for Walterboro?
We congratulate tbe Town Council in
ptariDg cement gravel ou the street
loading by the Walterboro Hotel. We
hops they will continue to extend this
fnod work. If there is any thing Wal
terboro needs more than any thing else,
»» is bettor streets. Our idea is that the
yVivrn Council shonld direct their efforts
t» permanent street building. If the
many thousands dollars that have been
spent in dumping clav on the streets in
tfie past eight years had been pnt in
witrified brick, we would certainly have
om or two good streets that would be a
credit to the town. As it is now, clay

W> desire to call the attention of our
readers to the excellent report of Wnl-
trrfmro’s banks made at the ol' se of the
ftrst quarter in 11)00. Both these banks
<ve doing a fine business and are in
•ptewdid condition. The deposits in
♦ bow that the county is also in good
atupe. The deiiosits in both show* nn
aggregate of over $222,000 which speaks
we!) for tie territory covered by thes^
o batiks. Bat there are still some jpt
pla bare who are doing their banking
Vostaeae elsewhere, and still others who
fir
ccwlmne to deposit in the 7 old trunk.
This ought not to be so. Both banks
have burglary insurance and are man-
qgad by men whose reputation is a
piarantee ot honest and safe dealing.

Xetice ia given elsewhere in this issue
si an attempt that will be made to re
organize the town library a&aociation.
Hacb an attempt should meet with the
hearty approval and assistance of all
kbmkiag persona. Too often of late, we
tear, the interest in such efforts to keep
alive such organizations is confined to a
very few, when from their importance,
amy aneahonld take a lively iotereat.
Andrew Caraagie gives his thoumnds

He realizes their usefulness and import
ance. We can’t do this probably but we
tan aid and foster onr little library by
javtag it a little thought and these true
itiends a weed of support. So let ns at-

Sad Death ot Carson Drawdy.
Editor Press and Standard: Our

Boats Anythin* We Ever Sold as a

Our well-known druggist, John M.
Klein, is Very enthusiastic over the
delicious coJ liver oil preparation,which
contains no oil. In referring to the
matter,“said Mr Klein, ‘ we sell insny
tonics, aud we handle ail kinds of reme
dies that claim to be iuvigorators and
►treugth-creators We do this because
wjare druggi-.ts, and it is our bosice^
t) supply the public with what they
want.”
“Whe^ our advices is asked, however,
iu regard to a tonic, body-bnilder or
strength-creator, we invariably recom
mend Vino!, ns we know’ of nothing that
can compare with it.
In Viuol modern science has given us
all of the tonic, bjdy-buildit g and cura
tive propet tics of that famous old reme
dy cod liver oil, actually taken from
fresh rols’ livers, without a drop
of tbe obnoxious and system clogging
grease which characterizes old fashioned
ol liver cil aud emulsions, aud which
has proved such a drawback.
Viuol is not a patent medicine as the
label on each to’tle tells everything
it contains, therefore yon know exactly
what you are taking.
In tbe moit natural manner it tones
up the digestive organs, creates a hearty
appetite, makes rich, red blood, and
strengthens every org^ti in tbe body to
do its wArk as nature luteuaed.
Our faith iu Viuol is so strong that we
