C., April C. Tur ner Welker, a flagman, formerly in the employ of the Southern railway, has been arrested charged with man slaughter. He was immediately taker before Judge Ferguson, who fixed his ball at $1,000. This Welker was unable to furnish, and he was incarcerated In the county jail, pending a hearing. Welker’s arrest grew out of an In dictment found by the criminal grand Jury of the superior court, which charged him with direct responsibility for the early Sunday morning wreck of February 11, on the Southern rail way, near this clty^ln which five of the trainmen lost their lives.
