Jan. ' We were all glad to see our

Guests to Farewell Dinner.
Buffalo, Jan. IS.-^-Isidore Sehwilzer,
manager of a house furnishing firm,
committed suicide last night in the
presence of a roof full of guests. Invited
to attend his farewell bachelor dinner.
He was to haye been married next
week.
After the dinner, which was a merry
affair, Sweilzer invited his guests Into
another room.
"I have a great joke In store for
you,” he said. He took a number ol
envelopes from a drawer and distribuU
ed them among his guests and w'hlle
they were dkamining them and trying
to solve their host's mysterious - ac
tions, Schweilzer picked up a bottle of
carbolic acid and drank tt. He died
before a doctor could arrive.
The woman to whom Schweilzer wag
engaged was Mrs. Sarah Wood, of
Grand Rapids, Mich. Failure of cer
tain financial ventures and Inability to
provide for the bride as he hoped to
do. was given as the cause of his tui*
cide. /
