"WATCH YOUR STEP"
WITH
CULLEN LANDIS and
PATSY RUTH MILLER
By J u LI EN JOSEl'HSON
Directed by WILLIAM BEAU DINE
The banker's daughter
would rather drink pop with
the shabby young grocer's
clerk than go off for a spin in
his rival's roadster.
Young love may be blind,
but it generally finds the way.
Cullen Landis and Patsy
Ruth Miller are starred in this
high speed comedy of young
love in a small town.

Quite a large crowd attended the ^
burial services of Mr. Henry Hemes ^
at New Hope last Sunday afternoon.
A simple and touching ceremony was *
conducted by Rev. S. T. Blackmon, *
pastor of the deceased, and the flor- i
al tributes were many and beauti- <
ful. This grief stricken family has i
the heart felt sympathy of a host of
friends in this community and around
New Hope church, where Mr. Hames *
has been a faithful member for many <
years, and where Mrs. Hames is still <
a member. ,
The Woman's Missionary Society i
will meet Sunday morning at 11
o'clock at the church. All members
are earnestly urged to be present as *
this will be a meeting of great im- <
portance. <
There will be a choir practice at ,
New Hope church Sunday afternoon
at 4 o'clock Come out and learn the
new songs. The Wesley Bible class '
has purchased a number of new song
books and are now ready to sing.
T. J. Bishop, Ed. Vinson, Amos Go- ,
forth and Dean Scott made a trip to
Woodruff and Reidville last Friday.

some time at Spartanburg, Hen- ,
dorsonville and Bat Cave returned to
Union Sunday night to resume her
studies in the high school and to
spend the winter with Mrs. W. W. '
Summer on South street. 1
Miss Sallie Whitlock has returned <
from a visit to Hendersonville and ,
Bat Cave.
Miss Mae Johnson has returned to
her home near Jonesville, after being
at the home of Mrs. J. J. Whit- '
lock for two months, having taught <
