College Students ?i
Are Out Earning
Their Tuition %
When the hundreds of universities ^
ind colleges throughout the country J
dosed for the summer VHontion thou. <
iundH of students found relief from *
he ten months grind of learning. This
elief for many will be a real vaea- ^
ion, but there ure others, in fact the V
rant majority, who will turn to some ^
orm of work in order to earn the nee- j
s-ury funds to defray their college J
'\penses. *
It is interesting to note the occupa
ions that students take up during th. 4iirpier
months. There is the atMeu ?.<
ho becomes the camp councillor; tie- ^
u iiii pro ball player; the life saver, 01 \
he physical director. The Phi Bettu *
K:?i pa candidate usually becomes a <
private tutor or summer school 111- 4i
structor. Then there are the bell +
boys, caddios and waiters that we ^
meet in summer hotels, all of them
embryo doctors, dentists, lawyers 01 *
leaders in political or industrial life. *
At the present time there are fouv ?
young men, two from Yandcrbiit Uni- 4
v< rsity, one from Atlanta Southei-p
Dentil College, on. from Georgia
Tech. They are worsing towards the 4
same goal as the m n in the above
mentioned class, but in quite a differ- 4
nit manner. It is their task to secure ^
->00 subst riptiorts to the Tictorial Review
in eleven weeks. In the event
that they are successful in this under- i
taking, they will receive their tuition <
in the foim of a sih larship for the <
eiiiiiuif- year. <
Union is the tw.iicth town that
the boys have ben working in, and
they are all unanimous in stating that 4
the inhabitants of this city have re- 4
ceiwd them very cordially, and in ev. <
ery way encouragi I them in their <
work. i
The boys are all equipped with letters
