SHULER & SMOAK,
Monarch Defeats Newberry
All who failed to visit the Monarch
ball park Saturday afternoon
missed one of the fastest games of
baseball ever played on the local diamond.
Monarch defeated the fasc
team from Mollohon Mills of Newberry
to the score of 5 to 4.

the visitors, having pitched some ]
wonderful ball, while Boozer, for the
visitors, also proved to be a pitcher.
The game was runless until the
sixth inning where the Mollohons
made one run on an error made
Millwood, who, by some reason unknown
to the scribe, misjudged a hot
grounder. (Too warm, I guess).
Monarch put on a batting rally in
the seventh inning, having made four
of their runs in thi3 inning and securely
tiein?- the score. Elveridge
was relieved by Moss in the seventh.
