Editor Union Times: To you and my many friends V throughout Union county, my native ^ county by adoption. I located from A active Methodist itinerary at beginning of present conference year in ? November. Through the aid of a gen- J erous friend I am undergoing medical *9 and surgical treatment that hitherto I was unable to take. ?l On last Wednesday I had an operation. Tonsils were removed; also some treatment of the neck. There is J a slight possibility of it being necessary to have some work done on my V nose by having nazal passages made A straight. In addition I probably have an abscess or so caused by bad teeth. With a little dental work I will be t A in excellent condition. Already I feel J like a new creature. *9 On April 10, 1911, my father a|ul E C ^ noble D'Art,. :iun has caught, with raie fee1. i! at indescribable some- CJ M II J tiling" that maLLs him tiuly to live the part. w H Q "ALL FOR CN?. The same fall I entered high school, where I was for the scholastic ? year. September, 1912, I entered Wof- ^ ford college. I worked my way V through, received an A. B. degree at ??i the end of four years with the same *< class mates who entered freshman ^ class with me. % I have been in active ministry* for ^ five years. Have not had a vacation V since I entered college. My energy 4yi is low because of the need of rest, A my vitality has been low because of ^ an abnormal condition of nose and throat. My condition was called to ^ the attention of my brethren. The V result is the treatment I am receiv- y ing. Elijah was commanded by the Ixird ^ to go to the home of the widow of Zarephath. She informed him a lit- J tie oil was in the cruise. She had dusted her meal barrel to bake a ^ little cake for herself and starving 4&1 son. She was destitute, famine was A on the land. In obedience to the command of Elijah the widow first made ^ a cake for the man of God. She gave all. As a result both her cruise of oil and meal was replenished until the ?*i day it rained upon the land. At the Ai close of my year's work in the ministry I had no reservations. From a X standpoint of health, energy and ^ financial recourses I was at the small V end of the horn. However, I am in a ?*< state of replenishment. Ai The celebrated I)r. Steedly is giving me necessary surgical treatment. ^ S. C. Dunlop. V ? Landrum V ? i It has been sometime since I chatted 4* with The Times' readers. I^mdrum is having some ehnnge- a able weather, wind, rain and sun- f shine, but not so very cold yet. Sev- ^ er:il hogs have been killed, but I think ^ it is rather risky, to kill large ones 4* yet. There are some extra large hogs here. A The I>andrum High School girls' $ basket ball team played Spartan j Academy girls this week, resulting in *4 victory for Landrum girls, score 24 4? to 13. A A freight train struck a team of ^5 mules last Wednesday night at the % main crossing here, killing them both. ^ The driver of the wagon escaped in- ^ jury but the wagon was gadly dam- 4* nged. A The Baptist church that has been A without a pastor for some time has ? called Rev. Honeycut from Green- ^ wood county, and I understand the V call has been accepted. Rev. Honey- y cutt preached for the congregation a A few weeks ago and made quite a A4 favorable impression. Rev. Montgom- X cry was returned to the Methodist ^ church again this year. V Mrs. M. M.
