How S. S. S. Clears the 1
Your system is continually taking
in nutrition and throwing off waste
products. This process goes on nil
during life. But, sometimes the organs
do not properly function and
these waste products, instead of passing
out through the pores of the skin,
through the kidneys and through the
alimentary canal, are absorbed in the
blood. Then the blood becomes poisoned,
and cannot properly nourish the
system.
IU health sets in. You may lose
your strength and vitality; or you

and joints; or you may be troubled
with bad boils, sores or some
other skin eruptions. All because of
the poisonous waste products in the
blood. Nature now .needs help. She
has done her best but is failing'. A

Special services for Sunday, Oc- til
ober 2nd. w
We have just 32 days to complete
he business affairs of the church.
Thity days from next Sunday I 'e
ihall leave Union for Lancaster to an
ittend the annual conference. mi
The destiny of the church, for the r
lext four years, depends upon the
iresence of every church official,- ev- .
sry officer and teacher of the Sunday inl
icncol, every member and friend of so
;he church at 11 a. m. so
If you love and are interested in yj
four church, and L think you do and
ire, lay aside everything else and er
:ome Sunday morning. Matters of m
rital importance demand your pres- be
?nce and attention. ca
At 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon there .
will be a vesper service. At this hour Ia
we ask all parents of the church to st
sring their children and present W(
;hem. to the Lord in holy baptism. m
Immediately thereafter baptism will
tie administered to adults.
At the conclusion of the service all
who have recently joined the church,
by letter or otherwise, will be re- QI
:eived into full connection.
Please be present that we may give
you a warm and cordial welcome into
our church. J. B. Chick,

Miss Mary Gillmore has gone to G.

The school here is under way with
Manning T. Jeter as principal and
Miss Vera Trotter as assistant. Prof.
Jeter of this place graduated at Fur- p
man last June.
The Union County Baptist association
met here at the Baptist church
last week, and was in session two fti|
days, Thursday and Friday, 22nd and
23rd) and was well made up by representatives
from the 24 churches forming
the association. Also there were
quite a number of visiting men of
note representing the various boards, ~
departments, objects and institutions
fostered by the denomination. The
meeting was very interesting, and enlightening
and this particular loca'.
church is well pleased with their part
in entertaining the body, taking care _
of the "inner persons," and being S
grateful to those several of the other
denominations, who felt an interest
to attend and assist. The delegates
and visitors, singly and collectively,
gave praise to it. These kind of
meetings may be good for a community
if people will make it available,
or some may not have "none of it."
I see that the grand jury "strongly
recommend that the county engineer
repair all roads," etc. Quite a number
of people think, or are of the opinion
that a lot of the county money is put
on the waste line. The work has ^
been going on, but misapplied. It i3
somewhat like an amateur farmer's
work of laying off a hillside field
with concaves -and convexes, putting
in "point" and "turn" rgws properly, _
and keeping them on the level. Dif- I
ferent men at road working may be
like different men building houses. Or
like different men with the same axe

YEAST BEST

the Quick Results.
Everyone has heard of the apparent
wonders performed by yeast in restor- ing
thin, sickly, and run-down people f
to health. And now it is found that
even more surprising results are
brought when yeast is taken'with iron,
the great blood-builder.
People who for years were weak,
pale, anaemic, and all run-down are
regaining their strength and health al- most
as if by magic through this remarkably
effective combination of tonics.
And the best of it is that you can
take it in pleasant tablet form?no
need to eat yeast cakes, which are "
so disagreeable to many. . I
The preparation in which these two
great health builders have been combined
is known as Ironized Yeast.
This contains highly concentrated
brewer's yeast which is far more effective
than ordinary baker's yeast be-|
cause it is richer iii vitamines. Vita- I ~
mines, as we all know, is the mysteri- *
ous element which science has found
to be so absolutely essential to health.
Due to modern methods of food preparation
-vitamines are lacking in most
of our commonest foods?and that is
why so many of us become sickly and
run-down. ,j
If you are suffering from loss of 1strength,
if you frequently become
exhausted, if your food has no taste
for you, or if you are irritable, thin,
pale, nervous, or generally run-down, .jl
then try'this remarkable new tonic. ?
Ironized Yeast will in most cases ai
bring a decided improvement within 0
three days. It will usually clear up
sallow or muddy complexions within .
ten days. From everywhere come en- n
thusiastic reports of what it is doing
for people.
It is packed in patented Sani-tape
packages and will keep indefinitely. Its
cost is no more per dose than common
yeast. Each package contains 10 days*
treatment and costs only $1.00?or
just lQp a day. Special directions for
children in each package. Made by "
