FOR A BILIOUS ATTACK
If you have bilious attacks give
Chamberlain's Tablets a trial. They
are excellent. Willis Browning, Pattonsburg,
Mo., has htis to say about
them: "About a year ago my wife
^Jfised a bottle of Chamberlain's Tablet's

also of constipation from which
i she had been suffering for years."

DOWN ON TYGER
?
The weather is quite cool for July,
seems like the autumn days are here
and everybody is enjoying having to
cover up with a blanket these nights.
This weather is good for the army
worm but death to the boll weevil.
Crops are improving since the good
rains, but not as much as the reporters
have led us to believe. The stalk
seems to be large enough at present,
but the stalk is not altogether the
needed thing Our reporters ought to
take time and examine the space between
the bolls and the squares.- Because
people can see large stalks of
cotton is no sign of it being the best
cotton.
I judge the price will be 30 cents
for tip top and cloth will be 35c. Our
wise men will have to get busy ft
they make good their sayings, although
it may sound this way when
flatterer meets flatterer, then the
devil sits back.
If the bait cost more than the fish,
then one, had better stop and start
at something else. The money we
fail to get never did add to our
wealth. Some days everything looka
bright and glorious and then again
dark and desparing. The farmers say
they are on safe footing, and the
next day it seems that they will be
swept away root and branch. But
to be truthful with the whole cheese,
we need more Christians, and not
afraid to go to our Father on their
knees and ask Him to settle this unsettled
world, if it takes final destruction
to do it. God is a friend to
mercy, for He is a merciful God. God
cannot befriend the unmerciful but
they ask for no mercy. There are
furn nloonina in fV?to wnrl/1 fUo man
who has and won't do and the one
who has not and can't do.
This may have to do for this time
but I just want to thank the editor
of the Times for the good paper and
the good advice he has given the farmers
this year; It will not be his
fault if we don't succeed. I thank
him for all he has done for me.
Busy Bee.
LOCKHART JUNCTION
We are having delightful weather
?neither too hot or too cool, and the
nights are fine. The crops are looking
fine and everything is growing.
Everybody is enjoying the nice fruit
and vegetables and I hope the editor
is.
The protracted meetings are coming
on and I have heard some remark
that this was not the time of year
for protracted meetings, as the people
would not be interested in them
as much as they would in political
meetings. But this should not be the
case, if they would attend the revivals
perhaps we would have better politics.
I had a house full of visitors on
Sunday and enjoyed having these
friends remember me. Dr. and Mrs.
J. L. Payne, Mrs. McElroy and Miss
Mahala Smith, of Union, Miss Hattie
Fuller, of Greenwood. I was so glad
to have them. Do come again dear
friends, the latch string hangs on the
outside at all times for all friends. Will
Cohen and family, of Union,
spent a few hours at my home today.
Bomar Gault spent several days in
Charleston attending the soldiers reunion
of the Coast Artillery Guards.
Gordon Smith and Miss Ella Smith,
of the Mt. Lebanon section, visited
relatives in this section last Sunday.
We have been canvassing the Brown
Creek community, and heard a fine
sermon by Rev. Charlie Garner and
' Viarl rliwVior of fUn Uoomf oV\1a Uamaa of

Mrs. Jane Crawford. Enjoyed the
stay there. Mrs. Crawford
and other visitors entertained
in her home. I made mans
stops along the route, but stayed a
long time at W. S. Vaughan's; just
as we drove up they were making icc
cream and I had to stay until it was
frozen. Mr. Vaughan cut a very
large melon and I thought after eating
all those good things, I would be
sick, but I am well and happy and
still on the go.
I am so pleased at the kind treatment
I have received on the rounds
and appreciate very much the kindness
of the good Union county people.
Passing by Mr. Thad Holcomb, he
had a touring car full of prettly girls
making ready for a drive. I was
tempted to stay there and kind oi
wished I had a touring car too.
Excuse this rambling letter, but
my mind is on the picnic. All the
correspondents meet me at the Times
office on the 7th of August for out
booster trip. The plans have all beer
made and I am like Hey Denver?
I'll take pretty girls but no boys.
None need apply for a seat in my car
?only girls allowed. We anticipate
a great time and while we are having
a good time, we are advertising
the Times and the good old county
of Union.
Be on hand sure.
Moxy.

SUGAR! SBGflR!
Two of the biggest sugar connections
have advised in the last day or so, that indi- <
cations point to a greater scarcity and higher
price on sugar a little later than we have yet
had.
We don't believe anybody knows, but we
do know that temporarily we have an abundant
supply of pure White Granulated Sugar,
and if you want a bag or barrel now, it will
pay you to see us while we have it.
