Mexico City, June 8.?One of the R
otable result? of the latest revolution C(
as been the dissappearance from S(
lexico City papers which formerly ?
rere strong supporters of the Caranza
administration of the line "Ser- Q
ice International" over stories which u
ould hardly be construed as favoring c;
he United States. C{
It long has been common knowledge K,
hat the foreign office, under the C.W- p
anza administration, maintained a (j.
ery efficient department, managed ^
iy a mexican pournaijist, Manuel
]arpio, to keet? informed on what was
rinted in foregln countries about t]
Mexico. Clipping agencies furnished ;(
lews stories and special articles es- jj
leciaily from T'nitetl Stated Bttd Latin ?,
American papers, while Mexican di- g
jlomats and consuls also contributed, j,
Stories unfavorable to Mexico and ad- a
ninistration officials were especially ?
loted and, if the writer were in q
Mexico, he received a free ride to the c
>order under Article 33 of the consti- t
ution. r
Any clippings supporting the "Car anza
doctrine" from Latin-American (
papers were distributed, while the
Central Amer'can union idea also was
?iven liberal publicity. Some of the I
nunes convaineu cnan^es 01 corrup;ion
of American statesmen, dipomats
>r government officials by American
)il interests.
One story prported to give "senmtional
proof of espionage by the
United States in Mexico" and another
claimed that an American or?
ization had spent millions of dollars
to hurt this country.
Mexico City Newspaper have emerged
from the revolution somewhat
altered. El Monitor Republican, the
Dbregon, organ, disappeared when
Gbregon and its general manager,
General Beanjamin Hill, left the city
on the eve of the anti-Carranza movement.
Mexico Neuveo, the Gonzales
paper, was suppressed by General
Francis Murguia on Map 1, when
General Gonzales was reported absent.
There was at first a shift in
the general managership of El Heraldo
de Mexico, from V. Alesio Bobles
reputed Obregon supporter, to Baltazar
Ferrandez Cue, and the paper
became pro-auministration but with
the arrival of the liberal revolutionary
forces, Senor Robles resumed the
management of that paper.
El Democrata, which always had
been a strong supporter of the Carranza
administration, changed managing
directors after Carranza fled
from the capital Enrique Beltran tak?
ing control.
A couple of smaller sheets, which
owed their lives to the revenue derived
from attacks on General Obregon,
oeased publication when the Car
ranza government ceased funcitioning.
The remaining leaders of the
capital press, Excelsior and El Uni^ersal,
continued publication without
nterruption but with their metropoli- ?
:?n appearance marred by the entire
ibsence of cable news.

Columbia, June 7.?Special: The co>peration
of the bankers and ginners
>f South Ca-olina with the Ameri an
Cotton Association for the contraction
of warehouses is being
lought, said J. Skottowe Wannamaker
iresident of the American Cotton As- tociation
today.
Plans are also being made, accordng
to President Wannamaker, for the
>rganization of a cotton bank and ex>ort
corporation in this State.
"Governor Hugh M. Dorsey, of
ieorgia, wha is organizing the Georgia,
Cotton Bank and Trust Corporator!
has practically completed the orranization
of this great institution,"
iaid Mr. Wannamaker. "Governor
3orsey delivered one of the best adIresses
at the Montgomery conventon,
pointing out the vital necessity of
trganizing a cotton bank and export
orporation in each cotton producing
5tnte in America and then the organisation
of a large Southern export
:orporation to serve as the hub
hrough which the State institutions
tre to work. He is extremely anxious
o learn the progress of the organisation
of a bank and export corporaton
similar to his in South Carolina.
Governor Dorsey ponts out the fact
hat the bankers, business men and
armers are nolidly behind his corpor, tion
in Georgia, all of them recognizng
the fact that this institution will
rove mutually beneficial. All of his
eople readily realize tha it is of
ital necessity that such an organi

ation be formed for the upbuilding
f the commercial life of the South
nd the protection of our great cot>n
producing industry.
"It will be remembered that a comlittee
was appointed at the annual
iceting of the South Carolina divis>n
of the American Cotton Associat>n
in Columbia in December to oranize
a similar institution. This
ammittee was reapponted at the
emi-annual meeting of the South
arolina divis'on this spring.
"Under the plans of the South Carlina
division strenuous efforts will be
sod to secure the erection of suffiient
warehouses to carry the entire
otton crop of 1920, and stretch the
ale over a full period of twelve
lonths, as has been done heretofore,
n selling cotton to the manufacturer
'hen he will pay a profitable price
or same,
"It is remnrable that one State in
tie cotton producing section of Amer:a
is 100 per cent strong along these
nes, this txnri? the State of Arizono
i the far ScutlVwest. As a result this
itate has a 100 per cent membership
[?. the American Cotton Association
nd has placed its cotton producing
ndustry upon a strictly business basis
'here can be no question but that
louth Carolina will follow suit and
hat the bankers and ginners will enoll
100 per cent strong."
