Newspapers and Ministers Asked to

The following letter has been reeived
by The Times, and by the
ninisters of Union:
C Al n .
ViClll/ICIUCll *
We are just recovering from the
rreatest conflict the world has ever
mown. I have reference to the War,
ind the Epidemic of Influenza. Reords
show that over half a million
leaths to our American people are
he results. This does not include
iiese left cripples by the war. We
lave a great work imposed upon us
o preserve humanity and make our
Nation's standard second to none. We
cad with regret the loss of lives by
he war, and the Epidemic, but hereofore
very little attention has been
:aid to those killed and injured in
Milroad accidents.
Ra'lrcads of the country have adopt
'd a Bureau of Safety, and we are
onstantly putting before our employes
matters of importance, protecting

Several suggestions have been
nade, and one was to ask our Minisers
and Principals to make mention
n the pulpits and schools, pleading
vith them to be more careful in drivng
their automobiles and other velicles
over Railroad crossings. I have
mown on several occasions where
(very occupant of the car or other
'chicle lost their lives while attemptng
to cross the tracks and not heedng
the signal "Stop, Look, and Lisen."
It is also dangerous to walk on the
racks, but in spite of the warning
signal placed before the public, they
ontinue this practice, many losing
ives. The double track of this Souhern
country, recently inaugurated,
nakes its more hazardous. The pubic
seems not to realize that when a
rain has just passed a crossing, there
vill likely to another one in the op>osite
direction within a few seconds.
That is why we should "Stop, Ix>ok,
md Listen."
Thanking you for anything you may
ay to help us in our work, I am,
Yours very truly,
W. H. Hendley,
Agent.

enthusiastic over Aspitone, the new 0f

ed by a weakness of the heart and re- ni|
