Giving the Facts on R
Circular lasued
There is being given circulation
throughout the state to a pamphlet
purporting to come from one H.
F. Scaife, of Washington, -D. C.,
making an attack upon my record
in the United States Senate. The
burden of the publication is that I
have neglected my duties by not
attending to some of the roll-calls.
I have challenged comparison
of my record in this respect dur
xug tut; tamyaigii auu smt;c liic i
isuance of this circular with the I
average of those senators who j
stand high in the Senate and in '
their respective parties. The chal- j
lenge was not accepted and for the j
information of my friends through- !
out the state I wrote to the Hon. j
Charles M. Galloway, former Civil j
Service Commissioner and now j
practicing attorney in Washington, |
requesting that he compile from i
the Congressional Record t~e rec-l
ord in respect to roll-calls of the
the following Senators:
Senator Hithcock, Democrat, j
Chairman 01 the x oreign Rela-j
tions Committee -when the Dem-;
ocrats were in control of the Sen- j
ate, and Democratic leader in the j
senate during the treaty fight.
Senator Owren, Democrat, Chair-'
man of the Banking and Currency
Committee under Democratic conSmith.
