The Carolina Packing company, which recently took over the old Orangeburg Packing company's plant here, will begin to make preparations looking to the immediate operation of the plant within the next few days, George C. Mr. Yarn arrived in the United States May 8, after several years absence in the Orient, where he has held an important position with the Standard Oil company. He has spent a good portion of his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Vara, of near Sniders, but left long enough to go back to Washington, where he was married June 21 to Miss Mercier. Miss Sallie Henderson died just before noon today at the advanced age of 85 years, today being her 85th birthday.
