Holding Out a Hope. * .
The clerk of a circuit court in the
west received the following inquiry
from a litigant in an adjoining county:
"Is it necessary for me to be present
at the trial in person? When
does my case come up?"t
The clerk replied as-follows: "No,
your attorney can represent you. You
will have your hearing this week."
Whereupon the litigant responded:
"If you are sure of that I'll be glad
to come. I am quite deaf."
