Littlej john, from R. O. T. C. headquarters of this district, told Captain Walton , Tuesday afternoon as he left the drill field after completing his inspection. ! Major Littlejohn is now on an inspec; tion tour of South Carolina, visiting I all units of the R. O. T. C. in this ! State. He was very well pleased with I the appearance and work of the bat, lion. At the time the cadets had ! been drilling under arms only seven j | days, but they handled their rifles j | quite creditably. Rifle practice began last week, and j | is being carried on in good shape. By | the end of this week all members of the rifle club in good standing should have had a chance to fire. The first notable scores were made Monday afternoon in spite of the fact that there was a strong shifting wind. | Lieuts. Lawrence Peebles made a 25x j 25 score, and Corp. Fred Brigman | made a 48x50 score. There were sevj eral other very good scores. ! For the week ending Saturday, j November 8th, Company "B" showed ! itself the best drilled company, with j Companies "A" and "C" close rivals for second place.
