Secret Ceremony Year Ago at Pickens,
S. C.

moving picture star, who was married
here on May 3 to Capt. Robert E.
Tremaine, of Ithica. X. Y? had been
secretly married to Captain Tremaine .
for almost a year before the New
York ceremony, according to the Xew I
York Herald this morning.

Frank A. Juhan, of Greenville. S. C.

end of which struck the man in the

coupler and for that reason the break

- A Reduction in State Levy.
Columbia, Aug. 24.?Acting under
authority vested in him by the last
Kfsession of the General Assembly in
the General Appropriation Act, Rut.
L Osborne. Comptroller General, has
reduced the State levy from nine and
one-half to nine mills, entailing a
