Bamberg County S. S. Convention.
The' Bamberg county Sunday
school Convention will be held in
the Lutheran church at Ehrhardt on
Sunday, April 14. This is a gathering
1 of the Sunday school workers of all
denominations in this county to consider
with each other the problems
in Sunday school work that are com
mon to each denomination, outu
meetings are held in even- county in
the State, and in fact, throughout
the whole United States. The progressive
Sunday school people in
Bamberg county are getting behind
this.movement, and hope to be able
to reach and help every school in
-the county.
The pastors of Ehrhardt are the
local committee on arrangements foi
L the convention. Thev^will arrange
for the entertainment of any delegates
who attend the convention
outside the town of Ehrhardt.- In
addition to local speakers, R. D.
, Webb, State general secretary; Miss
Millwee J)avis State rural and elementary
superintendent, and W. E.
Willis, of Cottageville, superintend
dent, of the Cottageville Methodist
Sunday school and president of the
Colleton county association, will attend
the convention and make ad
dresses on topics that will be instructive
and inspiring.
? . The superintendents of the county
are urged to call the attention of
their schools to this convention and
to elect two or more delegates to attend.
The programme in full will be

Local Patriotic Meeting Friday.
A local patriotic meeting will be
h*--'d Friday night at the coutt house.
Every loyal American is not only invited,
but urged to be present. This
is not an ordinary business meeting,
but some things which are of vital interest
to the people of this city will
be discussed, and some remedies will
be sought. If you are a citizen of
'i?< Bamberg city, it is your duty to be
present at this meeting. .You will

; Sunday morning saw the inaugui
ration of the new daylight saving
! time. A few days ago congress en- j
! acted a law fixing the official time
i at one hour earlier, and the law j
; went into effect Sunday morning at
j 2 o'clock, at-which time all the offi- j
j cial\time clocks in the United States
i were pushed forward one hour. They
| will be set back again next October, j
The new time is being observed in :
j Bamberg by nearly all the business
concerns, that is their work hours '
have been pushed up one hour. As
no new hours had been announced.

reason that to begin work one hour
