The name "Home School" was

of the playtime was spent by the

off the grounds.

operating many weeks a debating society
was organized. It met every
week and had a good attendance
[from school and community. It
might well be called a community
debating society. Surprising ability
in public speaking soon* revealed itself.
The last half of each Friday was
usually given over to spelling matchI
