The Bamberg Herald is going to do
that very thing. It is going to pay
ten per cent, commission to every
contestant who stays in the contest
to the end and actually collects $5.00
or more and does not win one of
, If you are not interested in the
prizes at all, how would you like to
secure a nice check along about the
fifth of December? With that check
you could buy Christmas presents
and a hundred other little things.
Every woman likes a little spending
money to call her own. She likes to
feel that she is spending money that

that everybody likes to have some
times?no matter how prosperous
you are. This is your chance.
WORK counts in this contest. You
certainly cannot sit down at home
and wait for the subscriptions >t;o
pour in to you. That would be a
mighty nice way to get a prize, but
the people won't help you that way.
You must let them know that you are
helping yourself. And then, they will
help you. Don'it get the idea that
you can just get a few subscriptions,
from your neighbors, and that you
will get the big prize. You may get
a prize that way, but if you want the,
main prize, the idea is for you to get
out and see everybody you possibly
can-?and get the subscriptions. Ask
people ito help you?they will. We
know it for they are helping some
of the contestants every day. They
coihe in the office, pay their subscriptions
every day that passes?and they
vote. Will you be content to stay
in the "rear," or will you push forward,
stand at ?the front, and get the,
votes?
And, remember, The Herald force j
and management have no preference
in this contest. Everybody is treated
alike. We would not for the ;
world suggest to anybody who to;
vote for. We hand them the list?1
they tell us, without a word of sug-!
gestion. And no contestant need to
ask us for a .single favor that we
could not confer on any other. We
are going to do the right thing.
Don't forget tp get in several clubs
this week.. They count. Saturday
is the last day to get in on this bonus
