The Story of Piercing Arrow
In the days of old the bow and arrow as well
as the lance and shield played a prominent, part in
the battles waged in every land. Christopher Columbus,
the undaunted navigator, found the Bow
and Arrow in the hands of the Wary Red Man upon
his landing in this land of the Free, Great, Grand,
and Glorious America. In later years PIERCING
ARROWS in the hands of these same Red Men who
at first joyfully greeted the Great Discoverer left
death and desolation in the wake of these bold and
hardy pioneers who braved the dangers of the great
unknown; and in every mighty battle of these early
times these piercing shafts played a prominent
part in the history that destiny had preordained.
These Piping times of peace find the Red Warrior
calmly dreaming his life away upon the fertile
plains of the West and contentment reigns supreme
except that civilization lias wrought queer changes,
and to-day the MODERN MERCHANT is fighting
trad? battles that for intensity or purpose are as
modern and mighty as any ever waged by the warriors
of old, and learning through the school of
ingenuity and thrift has compelled the ancient and
modern to respond to his call and has turned the
PIERCING ARROWS to his advantage, and here
to-day in OLAR it is not only casting death and
desolation upon high prices but is doing yoemen
