Fogg?Well, Clara, I bet heavily on the
last game, I thought it rignt to ten you?
Mrs. Fogg?Yes, you bet on the game
and lost all your money. For my part I
don't see how a man can rob his family
of the necessaries of life and throw every\
thing away in gambling.
Fogg?But, my dear, I didn't lose. I
won $500.
Mrs. Fogg?Daniel, you always were a
* lucky dog!
t Georgia occasionally furnishes some of
V- the most remarkable freaks you ever
heard of. The latest is a man with a conscience
strong enough to make him send
the railroad company a check for a ride
he took without paying for it. We wish
all the people who owe us for. their paper
could have just such an awakening of
conscience.
"The American woman's foot is the
prettiest," said a shoemaker. "It is at
once slender and robust and very supple.
The instep is high and beautiful. In a
; t word, a perfect foot?charming and serviceable
alike in a pink satin slipper, in a
ballroom or in a white, rubber-soled shoe
on a tennis court, or in a pair of old shoes
in the kitchen."
