You can now get "Autocrat" stationery,

strong company.
A complete line of underwear, from an
infant's wrap to a 46 shirt, at W. D.

from all sections of the county were here
to attend court or on other business.

Bamberg has certainly been a fine cotton
market this season.* For only a fewdays
has the price been below ten cents,
and in many towns the staple sold for
|??- :. less than that for some time. Comparison
will show that Bamberg's buyers have
uniformly paid the highest prices this
season.
Attention, fathers! I can fit yoji and
the boys in good clothing cheap. '

The quarterly statement of the Bamberg
Banking Co., published in another
column in this issue, shows how prosperous
that institution is. The statement of
nndivided profits,surplus, and deposits are
larger than at any time in the bank's history.
The large deposits show that our
> people are making money.
If you need a fine horse or mule, see
the load C. F. Rizer will receive tomor

he can suit you, no matter what you want.
The Wheeler hotel at Hendersonville
during the summer season used 5,780
chickens and 3,640 dozen eggs. They
must have cost $1,200 to $1,400. The lesson
for farmers' wives and daughters is
to raise three times as many chickens as
* - heretofore. They will all be needed, and
the price will be satisfactory.
Ladies, you are invited to attend the
display of French pattern and ready-towear

shoes at Rhoad's. The standard of perfection
in fit and wear.
This is the dryest spell within the
memory of the oldest inhabitant. According
to the government records there
has been only fifty-four hundredths of an
inch of rain in the past 44 days. And
nearly all this time the weather has been
very warm. Vegetation is badly scorched,
and many wells have gone dry?some
creeks have gone dry that were never
known to be dry before within the past
fifty years. The dust is most disagreeable.
Rev. G. P. Watson preached at the
Methodist church last Sunday.
Steps are being taken in Richland
county to vote out the dispensary.
The county board of commissioners
held a regular quarterly meeting here last
Monday, but no business of special importance
was transacted. Most of the
day was occupied with routine business,
approving of claims, etc.
Mr. W. M. Cauthen has sold his farm in
Orangeburg county and bought a plantation
near Ninety Six, Greenwood county,

The prize drill of the Bamberg Guards
in the opera house Friday evening for the
