Hit Them Both at Once. jg : A good instance of a double reproo occurred in a Scottish church. A la< named Merry weather was very inatten g3jj? ? His father alway Jy ^ composed himself for a nap directly th ?-v sermon was well under way, so that th boy could do as he liked without parents reproof. The minister could stand it n< ionger one Sunday, so he stopped sudden ly in his sermon and said: "John Merri, " weather if you continue to act in such ai unseemly manner during divine worship shall tell your father. I should tell hiu now, but he happens to be asleep." Fron that day Merryweather senior and junioi were model listeners. . Murdered and Bobbed. Camden, October 3.?At 9.25 tonighi Robert McDowell, a grocer and good cit * men of this city, was found in DeKalt . street, dead from a wound inflicted by i bludgeon. His money and his keys wen gone and his mercantile books were bj ??: \ his side. He was carrying them home tc post when set upon by the assassin anc fobber. The body was found by his 15-year-olc son, lying two feet from a great pine tre< g?:- ^ near Hampton Park, on' DeKalb street immediately opposite a grove. The blov Kg-., had struck him across his right temph ? and the right side of his face, evidently causing instant death, and the assassii evidently had concealed himself behine the great tree. Ul' Mrs. McDowell, thinking her liusbam was uncommonly late, sent their littl boy to meet his father and he discovers the body, but did not recognize it. H went to the house of Louis Black, nearb; and telephoned for help. Drs. Burnett and Brasington came at once, but coul< do pothing. The man was dead. Police officers are now guarding th scene and permit no one to approac close. Messengers have been sent to th State farm for bloodhounds.
