Crop Conditions.
Washington, June 27 ? The weather
mreau's weekly summary of the crop conlitions
says:
"While heavy rains have hindered the
sultivation of cotton over a large part of
he central gulf districts and in central
tnd northern Texas, where many fields
tre foul, crop as a whole has experienced
general improvement throughout the coton
belt. The plants are generally uaderiized,
especially in the eastern and cenral
districts, but good growth is nearly
sverywhere reported. Complaints of lice j
:ontinue from South Carolina and Geor;ia.
In Texas less damage from webvorms
and bollwevils is indicated; in wesern
Louisiana, however, some fields have j
een abandoned oh account of weevils, |
nd in Oklahoma and Tndian Torn'tonr
sreb-worms continue damage. Some pick g
has been done in extreme southern
?exas. j
"Under favorable conditions for translanting
tobacco, this work has. been i
irgely finished and the general condition
f the crop is promising." ?
