J ! BETTER THAN PELLS.
;? i'4 The question has been asked?in what
k ' way are Chamberlain's Stomach and
B - liver Tablets superior to ordinary cathar|
tic and liver pills? Our answer is?they
I are easier and more pleasant to take and
' effect is so gentle and agreeable that one
H hardly realizes it is produced by mediK
cine. They not only move the bowels but
1 improve the appetite and aid the digesh
' tion. For sale at 25 cents per bottle by
K Bamberg Phar; H. C. Rice, Denmark.
Two colored women sitting on tneir
^ front steps were over heard boasting of the
many lovable traits and many virtues of
their husbands.
"Gawge sutainly is a good man to me,"
said Mrs. Jackson, with feeling in her
voice. 44Ah have nevah been without a
day's work wash sence Ah mahied dat
man. He gits me all the washin' Ah can
do."
"Well, Ah has this to say foah Ezra,"
declared Mrs. Johnson, with satisfaction;
? "when Ezra gits drunk he gits drunk like
.a perfec' gennelman."
TO CURE A COUGH.
/. The coughs so prevalent these days
usually develop before you realize what
has happened. The best thing to do is to
4 take the most reliable cough cure you can
get. None better than Murrays Horehound
Mullein and Tar. It is made of the
purest ingredients and can be given to infants
as well as grown people. Above all
else it cures. You will find it at all druggists.
25c a bottle?extra large bottles.
. # Sarah Bernhardt is putting the finishing
touches on her memoirs, which will be
published simultaneously in New York
I and Paris, making one thick volume. She
r has been compelled to cut out a great
E3 deal of matter, as the manuscript in its
j& % original form was so bulky that it would
jr 4 have made over two large books.
$ THOUSANDS CURED.
DeWitt's Witch Hazel Salve has cured
thousands of piles. "I bought a box of
$ DeWitt's Witch Hazel Salve on recommendation
of our druggist," writes C. H.
LaCroix, of Zavalla, Tex, "and used it for
a stubborn case of piles. It cured me
permanently." Sold by H. F. Hoover.
"It's all well enough for Van Astorbilt
4 to talk about 'the stepping stones to success,'
but he had 'em to begin with."
"Had what?"
"Rocks."?Philadelphia Press.
When the transformation of cities by
i ' electric power and light is completed, we
may expect the air to be practically as
* pure as that of the country. It is estimated
that the carbonic acid exhaled
fl ' yearly by the people of New York city is
L ' about 450,000 tons, but there is less than
i 3 per cent, of that from fuel combustion. j

and.from indications both the liver and
the kidneys are affected. Mr. Bond was
brought here to-day to be carried to Augusta
for hospital treatment.
