to have an eventful year.^ And his

the best in the department, although
the “Gopher Gang” lias always been
one of the “go-fer-’em” outfits in the

Eddie enlisted in the One Hundred

to the campaign at the conclusion of
thjeir annual conference at national
headquarters. The national comman

for the campaign before the confer
ence.
The first contribution to the fund
was received from a World war vet
eran, who sent $100 in “appreciation
of my safe return to my wife and five
children." The veteran was Dr. C. S.
White of Rosedale, lad. He declared
.that the campaign “is a wonderful
thing for you to do."
Income from the endowment is to be
used in work among disabled World
war veterans, in curing for orphans of
veterans and in child welfare general
ly. Plans for the campaign have been
expedited because of the pressing
need for assistance for 5,000 orphans
of veterans who now are in need of
care. The campaign will he nation

D OES every cold, chill of attack of grip
leave you worn-out and utterly misera
ble? Do you feel old and lame, stiff
and rheumatic? Does your back ache with a
dull, unceasing throb, until it seems you just
can’t stand it any longer?
—Then look to your kidneys! Grip, colds
and chills are mighty hard on the kidneys.
They fill the blood with poisons and impuri
ties that the kidneys must filter off. The kid
neys weaken under this rush of new work;
become congested and inflamed.
It’s little wonder, then, that every cold
leaves you with torturing backache, rheu
matic pains, headaches, dizziness and annoy
ing bladder irregularities.
Don’t delay! Get a box of Doant Pills.
Give your weakened kidneys the help they
need. Assist them, also, by drinking pure
water freely, eating lightly and getting plenty
of fresh air and rest. Doan’s P///s have helped
thousands and should help you. Ask your
neighbor!
i€
Use Doan’s, ” Say These Good Folks:
MRS. J. L. GLASBY, N. Main St., Belton,
S. C., says: "I hail kidney trouble and my hack
ached and it was all 1 could do to go about my
housework. When I stood at the ironing board
I was troubled with sharp pains between my
shoulders and I had terrible headaches. I was
nervous, too, and my kidneys acted often. After
using Doan’s Pills, every pain and ache disap
peared and my kidneys acted regularly.’'
J. F. BROWN, machinist, Bcnnettsville, S.
C., says: “My kidneys were 'cut < f iix and the
secretions bun\jpd in passage and were dark and
contained sediment. > My back hurt severely and
was sore. It often felt ns though some one had
stmek me across my kidneys, especially if I
stooped. I read about Doan’s Pills and l>egan to
use them. It wasn’t long before I was a well
man again."

Biggest Post in World
It takes a big man to run the affairs
of the biggest Legion post in the world
and that’s what L<Wonnaires of Oma

they.elected Anan Raymond, attorney,

of 10-5. More than two days’ ballot
ing resulted in the election of Mr. Ray

man who is said to he largely respon

post. Besides launching and putting
over the idea of bringing the national
convention of the Legion to Omaha In
1925, Mr. Iksell Is leaving a very sub
