There were some exigency midnight calls from doctors, the hos pital, or sonic belated convivialists. Tim had grown old and hardened in the service. Ready was drooping and gray. The hack had seen both its best and its worst days. There was a family of four at home. Tim knew nothing hut driving a hack, so he was fast going down hill with a failing . . v business.
