Flagman Killed at Dunbarton.
A flagman on an Atlantic Coast
Line frieght train was killed yester
day (Wednesday) morning at—Dun
barton, rfoiording to information re
ceived by' The People shortly before
going to press. It was reported that
in some manner the man fell from a
box car. between the car wheels, his

Mr. J. B. Armstroilg, Jr., who has

tack of pneumonia, arrived in Barn-
vcll this, week and is convalescing at
the home of his father, (’apt. J. B.
Armstrong.
Mr. Aiken Still, of Blapkville route
P. called at The People office Monday
to renew his subscription. He says
that he has a share-cropper on his
, 'ace who made lotj bales of cotton
this year on 15 acres.
One of the largest crowds of the
f all was in town Monday, which was
salesday. Several out of town dealers
vere here with droves^of horses and
mulos. Sales were made by both the
Sheriff, and the. Master. At an early
hour in the afternoon the visitors* de
parted for their homes.

program for thi- meeting. Splendid
talks will be given by Mr. B. L. Park
inson on ‘‘What is being donfc to keep
the rural children in the rural
schools”; by Mrs. Parkinson on "Citf-
zenship"; by Mrs. Adam Moss on
“Parliamentary Law”; by Miss Minnie
Macfeat, of Winthrop College, on
“Better Children in the Home”; by
Miss Malone on “Child care” and a
speaker ott rural Sunday schools.
Mrs. L. -D. Chappel, Pres, of Farm
Council of Women, and Miss Bessie
Harper. District Home Demonstration
Agent, will also be on the program.
This is the first meeting of the kind
for farm women in this District and
all who attend will find it most help
ful and entertaining.
The Orangeburg Council of Farm
Women will entertain all those who
attend at a delightful midday lunch
eon and those who have to stay over
night will be entertained by the women
of Orangeburg.
