.The farmers very well remember
the very disasterous season, that we
had lust year with watermelons^ cii-
cuml>efs and cantaloupes, due to Jthc
prevalent^ -of blight or Anthracnose.
These diseases damaged these crops
Very severely, particularly was it bad
with cantaloupes, which cYop was proh-
ably dtfinaged 75 per cent, in the
County last year. Men who are in-af*
position to state say that they believe
that it is useless for a farmer to plant
any of the*e crops unless he plans to
control the disease by the prof>er
treatment of the' seed, and spraying
of the growing crop. Both of theAe
different parts of the work are very
essential, and the best of results will
m#t. be gotten if either one are not
properly done. The first one that
concerns our nvfnd is the treating- .sf
the seed just before planting, which
method is-as follows: Make a one. to
one thousand solution of M'ecuric
Chloride (Corrosive -Suhlimatic), use
earthen ware, glass, /porcelain or
some other vessel not affected by the
solution; treat seed for ten minutes,
then wash in clear water five times;
be sure to wa-h the* seed five times
thoroughly, otherwise they may be
injured, then spread them out to dry,
after which time
he. planted.,
they are ready- to

“My trouble has been periodic
cramping spells,” says Mrs. C. C.
Draper, of Atlanta, Texas. “For
several years thesfc have come on
me so baa that X had to quit my
work and go to bed. Every
month I would stay in bed from
one to two days. The pains in
my back and sides were awful.
“This went on for several
months after I was married un
til, one time when I was having
a bad spell, my husband sug-
f ested that I try Cardui. X said
would try it, so he got me a
bottle at the store and I began
to take it.
“It seemed like I improved
from the very first dose. When
£ had taken one bottle I wa^vgxx
much bettfer. I did not cramp so
hard the next month and I ate
and slept better. I was not near
ly so nervous, either. I thought
Cardui was fine, so J continued
the treatment until I had taken
five bottles, at which time I felt
completely well. I had no more j gists.

I am feeling fine now and I give
