Whst About a County Fair?
“All work and no play makesjack
a dull boy.” -
That is just as true'’of the older
“iacks” as it is of those who are still
in knee breeches, and it seems to us
that a county fair would provide a
large number of the people of this
immediate section with wholesome
entertainment and instruction, giving
them the opportunity of rubbing el
bows with their neighbors and dis
cussing farm problems.
It is, of course, too late for any
thing of the kind this year, but it is
not too early to begin making plans
for 1924. Allendale and ^amberg
Counties each have county fairs.
Barnwell has staged such events in
the past. It seems to us that this
offers an excellent opportunity for
the recently organised Chamber of
Ceasmerre to do some goad work. We
feel sure that the County Dsmonetrs-
tien Agent will cooperate, and The

directed, in the above entitled cause,
I will sell at Barnwell, South Caro
lina, in front of the Court House, on
Monday, the 5th day of November, A.
D. 1923, it being saldday in said
month, within the legal hours of sale,

of Barnwell, South Carolina, with the
buildings thereon, measuring one hun
dred fifty-five (155) feet On Marlboro
Avenue and running back a depth
of one hundred eighty-o.e (181) feet
and bounded as follows: On the
North by a lot of Mrs. Maggie I.
Walker; on the South by street which
separates said lot from lot of A. A.
Lemon; on the East by lot formerly
belonging to B. B. Easterling, now
owned by Sanders, and on the Wes':
by Marlboro Avenue.
Terms of sale: Cash, purchaser to
pay for papers and stamps.

15th the regular lawful penalties will

taxes be sure and state school dis-
trict in which property fit located.
Dogs are hot entered on the tax
books. Separate receipt and tags
will be given for dogs over six-months
