Miss Kate Woodward, of Waiter- boro, spent the Easter holidays with relatives and friends in Barnwell and Columbia. Lt Col. J. E. Harley has been pro moted to the rank of Colonel, a love ly littte daughter having arrived at his home last week. - Mrs. V. P. Bonner, has returned home after a visit of several days in Columbia^where she attended the Billy Sunday revival. The first post-Lenten meeting of the Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club was held at the home of Mrs. R. S. Dicks this week. Mr. H. R. Christie and family and Mr. Billie Christie, of Denmark, spent Easter in the city with their mother, Mrs. L. H. Christie.., J Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Price and Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Lemon motored down to Oiarleston last week for a visit to Magnolia Gardens. Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Calhoun and their sons, Duncan and Jamoc, of Barnwell are guests of Mrs. M. D. Boineau for Eas«?r and the Billy Snnday services. J. B. Calhoun • is also a guest,of his sister, Mrs. Boin eau.—The State. Miss Blanche Porter is at home this week recovering from a tonsil operation performed at a Columbia hospital last week. While in the hospital she was visited by her mother, Mrs. J. A. Porter, and sis ter, Miss Emily Porter. Mr.^V. H. Duncan suffered an at tack of appendicitis yesterday (Wed nesday) morning at a' local drug store and was hurried to a Columbia hospital right away for an opera tion. His eary recovery is hoped for by his many friends here. Mrs. T. S. Cave, who has been at University Hospital, Augusta, for several weeks, was carried to Johns Hopkins Hospital at Baltimore Sun day for treatment. She was accom panied by her husband and nephew, Mr. Lang Cave. Her many friends hope for her early recovery.
