Orchard Week.
I _
Mikr tlm wc«*k the wetk to carr
for your fruit tree*, if you haw any.
If you do not have an orchard, ask
your County Ajfcnt to help you #*1
started.
Now is the time to prune your
trees, removing all dead twijrs and
limbs, opening the center of the tree
and heading it back to nlaiut the
height that a man can rea£h stand
ing on the ground.
The grubs are very injurious to
trees, so be sure to dig around the
tree at the ground to a depth of a-
bout six inches and get all grubs
possible.
San Jose Scale is something that
kills more trees than all the other
diseases. Spray at this time with
one part commercial lime sulphur
solution to nine parts of water. This
should he done now, before the trees
hud out, as this solution is caustic
and will burn the buds and leaves.
Commercial lime sulphur can be
bought from the Williston Hardware
Co. at Williston and C. F. Molair at
Barnwell.
The spray to use later to prevent
worms in the peachr- and to prevent
Brown Rot v/iH be given later in the
season.
Fruit trees need fertilizing ay well
as crops. Small amounts of well rot
ted compost mulched into the soil
around the tree is vary beneficial,
bat most all trees need an applica
tion of bolnnead commercial fertili
ser in tha Spring. Standard mix
ture* of fertiliser* tack as S-t-J
and S-A-4 are all right One to foor

the occasion being a Valentine party
given, by C.rcle No. 2 of the Phila-
thea Class of the Kllenton Baptist
Church to the members of Circle No.
1.
The entire down floor was thrown
in one and was very artistically dec
orated, the Valentine colors of red
and white being observed in the
flowers which adorned the rooms.
Numerous red hearts strung on white
.ribbon were draped from th e corn
ers of each room to the chandeliers
in the center. Rod tapers burning
in silver candlesticks added greatly
to the beauty of —the decorations.
At four o’clock the guests began to
arrive, all expectant with anticipat
ed pleasure over this happy occasion,
and after pleasant conversation for
awhile, “A Penny for Your
Thoughts” contest was entered inter

"Built Me Up”
“T USED Cardul for years

than any medicine I ever
used” writes Mrs. M. G
Ragsdale, of Fort Towson,

shadow, nervous, and could
not sleep. I did not feel like
I could live.
“It seemed that nothing
helped me till I heard of
Cardui and began to use it It
strengthened me and, as *twas
recommended to do, it regu
lated and built me up till I
was like another woman.”
If you are weak, run-down
