other tax or license on dogs,, either
county, municipal or otherwise; Pro
vided, That all such licenses collect
ed thereunder shall be credited to
the school district from which it is
collected, to be used in the support
of the schools of the district; Pro-

vided, further, that said license shall
become due and payable oh or before
the 1st day of February of each and
every year. . ' ' -
Section 3. v License Tag to be Kept
on Dog Collar.—That every owner of
a dog shill be required to collar and
place the aforesaid dog license upon
the said collar, except when such dog
shall be used for the purpose of hunt
ing, when such dog shall be upon a
chase or hunt.
Section 4. Non-Payment a Mis
demeanor—Penalty— Disposition of
Fines.—Any person owning, harbor
ing or maintaining a dog, failing or
refusing to pay the license afore
said, shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined not more than
Five ($5.00) Dollars or^ imprisoned
not more than Five (5) days—one-
b:i!f of said fine shall go to the per
son reporting said failure to pay
said license, and one-naif to the pub
lic school fund in which said dere
lict occurs.

Assembly of the Statd of South Car
olina: That from and after the pas
sage of this Act there shall be lev
ied on all dogs, six months old or
older, on January 1st of; each year,
in the State of South Carolina, ati
annual‘licep.se of one dollar and
twenty-five ($1.20) cents per head.
Section 2. Receipt* and Tags—
Time of Payment.—In Lieu of All
Other Tax.—Disposition of Proceed*.
—That upon payment of said annual
license of one dollar and twenty-five
($1.25) cents by the owner of an^
dog in the State, the County Treas
urer shall issue to the said owner aj
