Pursuant tv authority veatcd in
u* the Executive Committee of the
Barnwell Municipal Democratic party
and in accordance /nth the rule* and
regulationa of the said party, we do
hereby order an election to be held
in the city of Barnwell, on Tuesday,
August 22nd, 1922, for the purpose
of nominating a Mayor, six Aider-
men and one Commissioner of Public
Works to succeed W. J. Lemon as the
Democratic nominees to be voted for
in the general election held for the
purpose of -electing 1 Mayor, six
Aldermen and a Commissioner of
Public Works for th« city of Barn
well.
This election will be held under the
rules of the Democratic Party and
all candidates are required io an-
nounce their candidacy in one or
more county papers in at least two is
sues preceding said election, and to
file a pledge in accordance with said
rules.
In the said election the voters shall
scratch the names of all save one
candidate for Mayor, all save six (6)
candidates for Aldermen, and all
save one candidate for Commissioner
of Public Works. The book of en
rollment shall, remain open until
Tuesday, August 15th, 1922, at 12 o’
clock M , and can be found at th« of
fice of J. M. Caldwell, and no person
shall be allowed to vote at this pri
mary unless he or she has enrolled
his or her name in the book provided
for this purpoee. r

County of Barnwell.
WHEREAS, On the 24th day of
July, 1922, Mm. M. I. Walker, a*
landlord, made and executed her
certain distress warrant against
Moore's Market, Bessie Moore and
B. S. Moore, as tennants, on ac
count of the failure of the said ten
ants to pay to the said landlord rent
due by the said tenants to the land
lord in the sum of Three Hundred
and Twenty-five Dollars ($325.00),
and whereas, numerous demands have
been made upon the tenants by the
said landlord for the rent, which
said, demands were refused, and the

Diamond, agent for the said landlord,
and whereas, more'than five (5) days
has passed and the tenants have not
replevied, and in order to satisfy
said landlord for the said rent as set
out in the warrant, I, J. M. Diamond
as agent for the said landlord will
sell the stock of goods, chattels con
sisting of groceries, fixtures, tables,
chairs and restaurant supplies now
located in the two stores formerly
occupied by Moore’s Market and
Restaurant, and Bessie Moore and
B. S. Moore on Main Street in the
Town of Barnwell, the said sale to
be held in the said store at twelve
o’clock on Monday, August 14th,
1922 for cash. The eaid stock of
goods to be sold has been appraised

Mr. W. E. McNab, who has been connected with the plant
