this city. He states that, if elected,

isting rate charged for electric cur
rent, if it is possbl* to do so. It is
'understood that Mr. Lemon, who has
been a member of the board since its
establishment several years ago, will
not offer for reelection.
DEATH OF A CHILD
Mr. Billie Christie, of Denmark,
was a visitor here Sunday.
Mr. Carter Price left Saturday to
spend several days in Laurens.
Mrs. Rex Graham, of Charleston,
is visiting relatives in the city.
Mr. J. W. Browning, of Blackville,
was in the city Tuesday on business.
After an illness of only a few
days, the little five-year, old son of
Mr. and Mrs. C. J. H. Still< of Barn
well, passed away Friday. At first
it was thought that the little boy
was the victim of spinal meningitis,
but a blood test proved that such was
not the case. It was then decided
that he was poisoned by something he

Hendersonville.
The Barnwell high school boys’ j
camp came to an end Tuesday after
an enjoyable stay s of ten days at
Holman’s Bridge on the Edisto River.
Quite a number of Barnwell people
went over Friday afternoon^ for a
reception and dance at the camp and
others from here motored over Sun
day afternoon for a snort visit to the
boys. Every member of the camp
had a splendid time.
