The ceremony was per formed by their pas or, the Rev. D. W. Heckle. The bride is the attract ive daughter of Mrs. G. W. Bodiford’ and the groom is the popular son of Mrs. H. C. Hair. Their many friends wish them a long life of happiness and prosperity. ' Mrs. W. A. Hair is spending this iveek with her sister, Mrs. J. G. Mat thews, at Williston. Mr. Wilbur Porter hnd daughter were in this section last week-end. Miss Elizabeth Carroll and sister, Louise, of' the Long Branch section, spent Saturday night with Miss Ai- leen Woodward. The children of the Methodist Church gave a very interesting en tertainment Sunday evening.* FOR BRIDE-ELECT a • » A beautiful compliment honoring an attractive bride-elect, Miss Eloise Cave, was a reception given by the Philathea Class of the Barnwell Bap tist Church on Wednesday afternoon of last week at five o’clock at the home of Mrs. T. S. Cave. The rooms of the hootesa’ home were lovely with Dorothy Perkins rosea, sweet peas and nasturtiums. Upon arrival of the guests each was given a card on which was a question contest The answers to these questions con tained the names of members of the Philathea Class. The honor guest was presented with a shower bouquet of white sweet peas and maiden hair fern. At the close of this contest refreshments were served, consisting of pink and white block cream and cakes. Upon the bride’s elect’s plate was a tiny white envelope with in structions as to how to proceed on a certain journey which she was then to take. Following the course out lined she found inumerable gifts, hands pointing to the places of con cealment. About sixty guests were present. Throughout the entire even ing lovely music was furnished by Miss Essie Morris. BODIFORD-HAIR Mrs. Charles A. Hensley entertain ed at cards Thursday afternoon in honor of her sister, Mrs. Willis Ir vin, of Augusta.
