opened Monday morning after a two

COTTON GINNING REPORT.
There were 7,83P bales of cotton
ginned in Barnwell County from the
crop of 1921 prior to ifec. 13th, as
compared with 28,018 bales ginned
to the same date in 1920. .

A NARROW ESCAPE
Mr. Angus B. Patterson, of Barn
well, had a narrow escape from ser
ious injury or possible death Satur
day night while out 'coon hunting.
He was driving an automobile and
mistook the road near an abandoned
gin house. Before he realized what
had happened the front and rear
wheels on one side of the car had
passed over an old well. Mr. Pat
terson says that only the speed of
the car carried him safely across.
TAX NOTICE.

Saturday on professional business.
Mr. A. I. McLemore, of Rosemary

louse and will conduct a boarding
louse.
Mrs. Chas. A. Hensley and children
returned home Saturday after a
visit of several days to relatives in
Augusta.
The County Treasurer^ office will
be open from Nov. 15, 1921, to Dec.
31, 1921, for the collection of State,
County and School taxes.
January 1st, 1922, 1 per cent, pen
alty will be added.'
February 1st, 1922, 1 per cent, ex
tra will be added.
March 1st, 1922, 5 per cent, pen
alty extra will be edded to March
15, making the penalties read as fol

January, 1 per cent.; February, 2
per cent., and March, 7 per cent..
After March the 15th, executions
will be served against all delinquent
taxes and turned over to the Sheriff
for collection.

rect an erroneous impression tha\ has prevailed for some time and
that has only recently come to my attention. It seems that some
buyers of photographs were dissatisfied jwith the work edven
them, which it was reported had been produced by me or my rep
resentative. 1 wish to say’that neither 1 rtor any representative of
mine has ever made any photographs of people in Barnwell and
any statements to the contrary are without foundation in fact.
It will be my pleasure, however, to serve the people of this
section. 1 expect to be in this vicinity during the month of fan*
uary and will be glad if those who contemplate haLVinR' photo-
