Martin and baby, of Texas have gone to Asheville for several days, after a visit to her mother, Mrs. Kate Patterson. Misses Joyner, Browning and Liv ingston, and Messrs. Max Brownson and W. D. Gantt spent the Fourth with relatives and friends at North. Mrs. J. N. Anderson and baby have returned home after a visit to rel- aivcs in Greenville. Miss Anna Walker came down from Columbia last week to spend the summer with relatives in Barnwell. Mr. E. W. Holman has purchased a handsome Buick touring car from the Olar Buick Co. Mr. and "Mrs. F. H. Miller and children spent the Fourth with rel atives in Cameroh. Mr. and-Mrs. John B. McNab atid little daughter, of Waynesboro, Ga., visiting relative- h.-rc. ' Miss Carrie McNab, of Florence, is spending some time here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mc Nab. Misses Dragitza Papovitch and Sibinka Gentitch, of Beigrad, Serbia, came last week for a visit to Miss Emily Porter. These young ladies are students at Converse College and are-spending the summer with their college friends. t Mr. ind Mrs. James F. Dabbs and little son, of Mayesville, came to Barnwell last week to visit her father, Capt. J. B. Armstrong. Their friends will be Interested to know that Mr. Dabbs has recently been elected to the chair of adjunct professor of English In the University of South Carolina. Mrs. J. Julien Bus^ entertained the members of the Ladies’ Guild of the Episcopal Church Tuesday after noon. * . Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Sextdh motored down from Columbia Sunday morn ing to spend the Glorious Fourth with relatives here. The weekly market, conducted at the Court House every Saturday by the members of the Home Demon stration Clubs, continues to be quite a success. The town people appreci ate the opportunity of getting fresh country produce at . reasonable prices and the country people are given a cash market for . the products of home and farm. FOR SALE CHEAP.
