The friends of Mias ‘Nancy Delk
will regret to learn of her death,
which occurred at the home of her
nephew, Mr. E. E. Morris, in Barn
well, on Friday mhming, the 12th
inst. at three o’clock. Although she
had been in failing health for the
past year her condition was not con
sidered serious until a few days be
fore the end Came.
“Aunt Nancy,” as she was famil-
iary called by all who knew her, was
in the eighty-fifth year of her age,
and had always lived a consistent
'Christian life, having united with
Double Ponds Baptist church in early
girlhood. Her whole life was one of
•sacrifice and devotion, always min
istering to the wants and needs of
•others.
The funeral services were conduct
ed by her pastor, Rev. Paul A. Bolen,
at the Double Ponds Baptist church on
Friday afternoon at four o’clock in
the presence of a large concourse of
sorrowing relatives and friends, and
her remains were interred in the
church cemetery. '
She is survived by one brother, Mr.
W. D. Delk of Cope and n host of
nieces and nephews. For the past
twenty-five years she had resided
with Mr. E. E. Morris and family
who have the since rest sympathy of
their friends in their sad bereave
ment.

County and School taxes for the fis
cal year of 1920, from October 15th,
1920 to December Slat, 1920, inclu
sive. January 1st, 1921, a penalty
of 1 per cent will be added on all un
paid taxes. February 1st, an ad
ditional 1 per cent will be added;
March 1st, an additional 5 per cent
will be added making a total of 7
per cent, penalty on all taxes. Books
will close March 15th, 1921.
